چکیده
Spallation cross sections for 250 MeV to 2 GeV protons bombarding thin targets of natural copper were determined via the foil activation technique. This energy range is important cosmogenic radionuclide production in interplanetary space bombardment by galactic cosmic-ray protons. Cross are reported 60Co, 58Co, 57Co, 56Co, 56Ni, 59Fe, 54Mn, 52Mng, 51Cr, 48V, 47Sc, 46Sc, 44Scm, and 7Be. The 44Scm section measurements provide values at energies not currently EXFOR database. All compared calculated with INCL-XX intranuclear cascade reaction code, coupled GEMINI, ABLA, SMM evaporation models. models generally predict absolute magnitude energy-dependent variability within a factor two, however accuracy decreases increasing mass difference between Cu product. ABLA GEMINI de-excitation codes performed significantly better than SMM, deexcitation model also accurately predicting light cluster nucleus large differences predictions 7Be three demonstrate that stage spallation reactions an contributor clusters.

Hilo2k: Transport Cross Sections for Neutron Energies to 2 Gev
INTRODUCTION For neutron energies above 20 MeV, measured doubly differential cross-section data is sparse and most accelerator neutronics calculations are performed using Monte Carlo codes employing highenergy stochastic collision models. Monte Carlo methods are very well suited for analyzing geometrically complex systems. However, often they are computationally expensive when used for accelera...

The production cross sections and the kinematical properties of primary residual nuclei have been studied in the reaction Pb (1 A GeV) + d. Isotopic distributions were measured for all elements from titanium (Z=22) to lead (Z=82). The measured kinematical properties of the residues were also used to disentangle the relevant reaction mechanisms, spallation-evaporation and spallationssion. The fr...
متن کاملMeasurement of nuclide cross - sections of spallation residues in 1 A GeV 238 U + proton collisions
The production of heavy nuclides from the spallation-evaporation reaction of U induced by 1 GeV protons was studied in inverse kinematics. The evaporation residues from tungsten to uranium were identified in-flight in mass and atomic number. Their production cross-sections and their momentum distributions were determined. The data are compared with empirical systematics. A comparison with previ...
